Managing Attorney

Donn K. Harms is a Registered Patent Attorney registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 1995. He has worked with small inventors, small businesses, startups, and larger companies, on both U.S. and International Patents, Trademarks, and licensing matters. 

In addition to his current practice as a Registered Patent Attorney Mr. Harms has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of California where he lectured on the Principles of Patent Law, Trademark Law, and Intellectual Property

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Harms owned and operated a small business with 50 employees for over 15 years. He has a vast amount of practical experience in small business startup and operation.  He is admitted to the California State Bar, the United States Patent Bar, the United Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Laura Friedrichsen – Intellectual Property Paralegal and Office Administrator

Laura Friedrichsen offers legal assistant support to our patent attorneys and agents. Laura was born and raised in San Diego and joined the firm in 2002 and is well-versed in all matters relating to domestic and foreign patent and trademark filings and prosecution. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from San Diego State University.

 Noah Castro – Trademark Paralegal and Legal Assistant

Noah Castro was born and raised in San Diego and joined the firm in 2015 and has over 7 years of experience assisting with domestic foreign trademark matters. He specializes in trademark searches and filings. He earned his Bachelor of Science from San Francisco State University in 2020 and is beginning his law school journey by starting law school in the fall of 2024.
